Communicating design intent is one skill the ETSU INTD faculty is dedicated to help beginning designers master. To clearly explain, design students need to smoothly transition between skills that match their targeted audience and place in the design process. Sketching, modeling, using technology, and oral/written components are all stressed throughout the curriculum. Shown is a set of design process from the design firm that is working on the expansion of the Ashville Art Museum. Note the progression from early sketches through modeling to fancy marketing renderings.
